The School of Economics offers a certificate in Economics for students in all disciplines at Georgia Tech. The certificate program provides a general acquaintance with economic thought and is especially valuable for students considering graduate work in law or business administration. It should also be attractive to engineering and science students who wish to broaden their education and to understand the forces that shape the modern world.
The certificate requires a minimum of 12 semester hours in Economics, at least 9 hours must be taken at Georgia Tech and at least 9 hours at the 3000 level or higher. Courses must be taken for a letter grade, with an earned average grade of C or better. Courses required by course name and number in a student’s major may not be credited by that student toward the certificate.
2000 level courses that may be considered for certificate credit are:

Early in the semester in which you graduate, you should complete the application form and submit it to the School of Economics office, Room 208A, Old CE Building. A certificate will be issued when you complete your undergraduate degree requirements.
